	The camping site is situated 10 km (6.2 miles) to the west of Licata and 20 km (12.4 miles) to the east of Gela, on the left edge of the big valley which separates the communities of Licata and Butera as well as the provinces of Agrigento and Caltanissetta.
The site is remarkably near to the Valley of the Temples and to the archeologica) zones of Sabucina and Mongantina, Piazza Armerina and Gela, with various services and facilities available at the town of Licata only 10 km (6.2 miles) away and with a beautiful view of the medieval castle of Falconara. The road communications with the main cities are facilitated by a network of high- and expressways which permit to makt pleasant excursions to every part of the island thanks to the central location of the camping site.
	The attached map shows clearly the existing possibilities of excursions to the centers of historical, archeological, monumental and scenic interest. Between Selmunte and Syracuse there is indeed a highway system consisting of the highway A19 and the national road 115 and permitting to cover within a few hours the distance between the two extreme points of the island.
The capital of the island, Palermo, can be easily reached via the national roads 115, 189 and 121, with a total extension of 188km (117 miles), so it is easy to viisit also this cradle of civilizations that superseded one another in the course of centuries. The most prominent sights of Palermo are; the churches of La Martorana and of San Giovanni degli Eremiti, the Cappella Palatina, the Palazzo Reale, Palazzo Chiaramonti and Palazzo Gangi, the Casa Professa. Only a few kilometers (or miles) away: Monreale and its Cathedral with mosaics and the annexed cloister.
	The south-east part of the island offers with a visit to Agrigento a journey into the past centuries through the Valley of the Temples, where travelers can 'admire the temples of Juno, of Concordia and of Castor and Pollux as well as the tomb of Theron and the oratory of Phalaris.
The part of the island to the east of the camping site has similar testimonies of the passed civilizations that are not less interesting. At Syracuse these are: the temples of Apollo and of Athena, the Fountain of Arethusa, the Ear of Dionysius, the Roman Gymnasium, the Castle of Euryelus; and at Catania: the Cathedral, the Elephant Fountain and the Elephant Square, the Chapel of St. Agatha, the Ursino Castle, the Greek Theater, and the Roman Amphitheater.
	Besides, Catania is the point of departure for visits to Etna (3329 meters, or 10922 feet, high), one of the few still active volcanos for thousands of miles round.  The proximity of the camping site to the town of Agrigento, Licata and Gela permits to visit the archeological museums of national importance with exhibits originating from prehistoric, Greek, medieval and other civilizations. Topographically, the camping site is situated in a thick-wooded flat country, 15 meters (49 feet) above the sea-level and only 20 meters (65 feel) from the sea.
The sandy beach hems a natural bay limited by the spit of land called Two Rocks. Characteristic of the very mild climate are the temperatures varying during the year between 15° and 35° C (between 50° and 95° F), which not seldom allow bathing even in winter time. The sea surface in front of the camping site is of crystalline clarity, and the sea bottom recedes softly with the increasing distance from the shore.
	The sea is particularly suited for underwater fishing, water-skiing, sailing and other sports. The beach overlooked by the camping site is very wide and clean. As a bathing beach, it is equipped with dressing cabins. The sea is well suited above all for children.
